The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 7 played minutes CERRO PORTEÑO got a freekick which was hit by Gwidon Kaczor. Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis scored 0-1 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ramon Lopez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, CERRO PORTEÑO's Cãlin Damaschin got control of the ball when Bebeto Chaves tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Cosme Bartoli came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Corralito AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cosme Bartoli couldn't finish the play. Ramon Lopez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. It was a well-played corner which Valentin Quinto managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. 21 minutes into the match, CERRO PORTEÑO's Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ramon Lopez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 29 minutes into the match, Corralito AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis came free, but Ramon Lopez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 30 minutes in the game, Bebeto Chaves fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Cãlin Damaschin having to interfere. If Bebeto Chaves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cãlin Damaschin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bebeto Chaves in the 34th minute of play. Corralito AFC's Ramon Lopez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis in the 36th minute of play. In the 42nd match minute, CERRO PORTEÑO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgar Kensicki to maneuver through the defense. CERRO PORTEÑO's Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Dan Eckegren fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Corralito AFC's protests and gave Dan Eckegren a yellow card for diving instead. In the 45th match minute, Corralito AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dan Eckegren to maneuver through the defense. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Corralito AFC's Robustiano Jayvier was substituted for Valentin Quinto. Cãlin Damaschin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bebeto Chaves, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. The throw-in from Dan Eckegren in the 56th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by CERRO PORTEÑO's Paulo Maldini. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Corralito AFC's goalkeeper Ramon Lopez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dan Eckegren made in the 61st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by CERRO PORTEÑO's Paulo Maldini. 62 minutes into the match, CERRO PORTEÑO's goal looked a bit too open when Bebeto Chaves came free, but Cãlin Damaschin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 65 minutes into the match, Corralito AFC's goalkeeper Ramon Lopez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis. In the 68thth minute of the game Bebeto Chaves who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CERRO PORTEÑO's Cãlin Damaschin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ramon Lopez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis in the 73rd minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, CERRO PORTEÑO's Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ramon Lopez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 77th minute CERRO PORTEÑO were awarded a corner. Edgar Kensicki went to the cornerflag to take it. CERRO PORTEÑO's Edgar Kensicki was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ramon Lopez in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Cãlin Damaschin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robustiano Jayvier in the 79th minute of play. Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ramon Lopez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis ran back to his position shaking his head. Ramon Lopez made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis sent off a good shot on target. When Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the CERRO PORTEÑO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis couldn't finish the play. Andres-Sebastian Kanchelskis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Ramon Lopez made a huge save. CERRO PORTEÑO's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Edgar Kensicki in the 90th minute. Edgar Kensicki made a great header on CERRO PORTEÑO's corner, it was just that Corralito AFC's Ramon Lopez managed to reach the ball for a save. Bebeto Chaves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cãlin Damaschin having to interfere.
