The FC Steaua Pildesti fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luca Corcoveanu should have stopped the shot. In the 29th match minute, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Narcis Aursulesei to maneuver through the defense. In the 30th match minute, FC Steaua Pildesti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Traian Roşu to maneuver through the defense. Nae Costin had in the 45thth minute some difficulties stopping Edgar Jdeica's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The supporters of Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- booed when FC Steaua Pildesti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adam Buș didn't get a good kick on the ball. Octav Puiu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luca Corcoveanu having to make a save. A collision led to FC Steaua Pildesti getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Virgil Dragalina hit a great ball. Mădălin Nicodim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Luca Corcoveanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Nae Costin got control of the ball when Traian Roşu tried to sneak it across the goal line. FC Steaua Pildesti's Adam Buș pulled a muscle in his leg after 66 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Narcis Aursulesei fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s protests and gave Narcis Aursulesei a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of FC Steaua Pildesti booed when Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Narcis Aursulesei didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nae Costin acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 68th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Edgar Jdeica. In the 74th minute, Albert Guriță hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edgar Jdeica took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 76th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nae Costin. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Octav Puiu in the 88th minute of play forced FC Steaua Pildesti's goalkeeper Luca Corcoveanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 89th match minute, FC Steaua Pildesti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Traian Roşu to maneuver through the defense. After 90 played minutes Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- got a freekick which was hit by Nicodim Voiculescu. When Narcis Aursulesei was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 92 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Narcis Aursulesei got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Nae Costin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marius Cănănău in the 94th minute of play. 96 minutes into the game, Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Octav Puiu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luca Corcoveanu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- fully deserved thier win.
