Ferrari from getting a goal against them. 25 minutes into the match, S.C. Ferrari's goal looked a bit too open when Abel de Barros came free, but João Carlos Oliveira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 33 minutes into the match, S.C. Ferrari's goalkeeper João Carlos Oliveira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Allan de Lara. After a defensive mix-up in S.C. Ferrari's zone, Abel de Barros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Carlos Oliveira came out of the goal and Abel de Barros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. João Carlos Oliveira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Allan de Lara in the 37th minute. João Carlos Oliveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tony Dias, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Beto Guedes was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Abel de Barros's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but João Carlos Oliveira was relentless in the 74th minute of the game.
