Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Bernt Jønsson started the match with the kick off. After having played for 12 minutes, Wesley Fantini managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palmeiras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wesley Fantini was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Palmeiras getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Leonardo Donato hit a great ball. Saverio Niva took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pegoraro Da Messina. Pegoraro Da Messina dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Pegoraro Da Messina showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Saverio Niva, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. A throw-in in the 23rd minute of the game was made by Moisés Donato with Fábio de Souza as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 28 minutes into the match, Vancouver Reds's Saverio Niva sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pegoraro Da Messina narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Palmeiras's Moisés Donato got a free kick in the 31st minute. 34 minutes had been played when some careless play by Palmeiras's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Greger Sandström was slow to take the kick. During this time Vancouver Reds's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Greger Sandström got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Pegoraro Da Messina quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Pegoraro Da Messina was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Saverio Niva showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 39 minute of play. 42 minutes into the game, Moisés Donato was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palmeiras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vancouver Reds the free kick. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wágner Recife was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Palmeiras's goal looked a bit too open when Saverio Niva came free, but Pegoraro Da Messina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Santana Armada showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wesley Fantini in the 56th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bernt Jønsson got free with Santana Armada in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 62 minutes into the game, Vancouver Reds's Saverio Niva nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pegoraro Da Messina made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Vancouver Reds made a substitution. Rodrigo Ferdinand replaced Róbson Queirós. Vancouver Reds made a substitution. Jakub Kiwior replaced Louie Mulford. Pegoraro Da Messina showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodrigo Ferdinand, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Santana Armada showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonardo Donato in the 69th minute of the match. Santana Armada took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wesley Fantini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Vancouver Reds's Santana Armada got control of the ball when Bernt Jønsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 75th minute Rodrigo Ferdinand shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pegoraro Da Messina saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rodrigo Ferdinand struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Pegoraro Da Messina didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vancouver Reds. Vancouver Reds's Benicio Valentine got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Palmeiras defense, Rodrigo Ferdinand kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pegoraro Da Messina. The Palmeiras fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pegoraro Da Messina should have stopped the shot. 87 minutes into the match, Palmeiras's goal looked a bit too open when Rodrigo Ferdinand came free, but Pegoraro Da Messina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 88th minute of the match Vancouver Reds got a corner. Palmeiras's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Greger Sandström ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Greger Sandström got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Pegoraro Da Messina quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodrigo Ferdinand in the 95th minute of play forced Palmeiras's goalkeeper Pegoraro Da Messina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee ended the match the Vancouver Reds players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
