Mauro Couto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Karl-Åke Mattsson made a huge save. A collision led to AC Milan getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Jonas Koch hit a great ball. 19 minutes into the match, AC Milan's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Nel came free, but Karl-Åke Mattsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 21 minutes into the match, AC Milan's goal looked a bit too open when Filipe Sobral came free, but Karl-Åke Mattsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fernando Valadão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonas Koch, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. 2-1 became the score in the 32nd minute when Gabriel Setúbal elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Karl-Åke Mattsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gabriel Setúbal in the 35th minute. Karl-Åke Mattsson made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Mauro Couto sent off a good shot on target. Karl-Åke Mattsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Filipe Sobral in the 44th minute of the match. 45 minutes into the game, Sture Holm was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AC Milan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fundação Marques dos Reis the free kick. A collision led to AC Milan getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Sture Holm hit a great ball. When Hans Apelqvist fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AC Milan's protests and gave Hans Apelqvist a yellow card for diving instead. Hans Apelqvist kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

After 51 played minutes AC Milan got a freekick which was hit by Bernt Alstedt. Filipe Sobral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mauro Couto might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Karl-Åke Mattsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mauro Couto ran back to his position shaking his head. Karl-Åke Mattsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filipe Sobral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 63rd minute Filipe Sobral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Åke Mattsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th minute, Gabriel Setúbal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Karl-Åke Mattsson was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. After a defensive mix-up in AC Milan's zone, Mauro Couto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Karl-Åke Mattsson came out of the goal and Mauro Couto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauro Couto in the 80th minute of play forced AC Milan's goalkeeper Karl-Åke Mattsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind AC Milan's goalkeeper Karl-Åke Mattsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Fundação Marques dos Reis's zone, Malte Ahlerot stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernando Valadão came out of the goal and Malte Ahlerot tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Karl-Åke Mattsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Nel in the 87th minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, AC Milan's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel Setúbal came free, but Karl-Åke Mattsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fundação Marques dos Reis's Dário Pinto was substituted for Laurentino Vilaverde. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Fundação Marques dos Reis fully deserved thier win.
