After 37 played minutes Palestra do Interior got a freekick which was hit by Richard Ríos. When Perivaldo Carneiro came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Palestra do Interior fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Perivaldo Carneiro couldn't finish the play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Igor Coronado made a kick off. Fernando Pras showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Igor Coronado, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Luiz Fabiano Abraão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Fernando Pras tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Osvaldo Marques showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Perivaldo Carneiro in the 58th minute of the match. When Celsinho da Silveira fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MAZER SAF's protests and gave Celsinho da Silveira a yellow card for diving instead. Celsinho da Silveira kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. The MAZER SAF supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing MAZER SAF would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
