Valdir Velloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ksawery Kiepski having to interfere. Ksawery Kiepski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdir Velloso in the 20th minute of play. Christer Åkesson was a little too slow when Thomas Vollmar got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 22nd minute. The score was now 1-1. Here Comes the Hammer's Christer Åkesson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thomas Vollmar in the 26th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valdir Velloso in the 29th minute of play forced Newcastle United's goalkeeper Ksawery Kiepski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Valdir Velloso in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ksawery Kiepski prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Thomas Vollmar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Christer Åkesson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. The throw-in from Lucjan Turak in the 90th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Here Comes the Hammer's Balhikapungava Bonk. Ksawery Kiepski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fred Petersson in the 92nd minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Here Comes the Hammer players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Newcastle United.
