Newcastle United's Ksawery Kiepski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Staffan Nyberg in the 23rd minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 26 minutes, Vladimir Miheev successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 28th minute Remigiusz Bronkala shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vladimir Miheev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th minute of the match, Remigiusz Bronkala got a very nice opportunity to score, but Vladimir Miheev was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Valter Abreu kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. João Pedro Silva scored 1-3 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ksawery Kiepski, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zbyszko Cupial in the 46th minute of play forced Newcastle United's goalkeeper Ksawery Kiepski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ksawery Kiepski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zbyszko Cupial, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Canastro FC were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zbyszko Cupial to strike the kick off in the second half. Ksawery Kiepski was out of position in the 53 minute of play, and Zbyszko Cupial capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Zbyszko Cupial really showed his touch with that goal: 1-4. Filip Orling kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. 1-5 became the score in the 58th minute when Zbyszko Cupial elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 64 minutes into the match, Newcastle United's goal looked a bit too open when Zbyszko Cupial came free, but Ksawery Kiepski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 65 minutes Newcastle United's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Valter Abreu who took care of the corner kick. Valter Abreu made a great header on Canastro FC's corner, it was just that Newcastle United's Ksawery Kiepski managed to reach the ball for a save. Staffan Nyberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Ksawery Kiepski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. João Pedro Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 75 minutes into the game, Marquinhos Nogueira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Canastro FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Newcastle United the free kick. After a rather tough play, Canastro FC's Valter Abreu got a free kick in the 76th minute. In the 77th minute Lech Wierzbicki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vladimir Miheev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Newcastle United's Ksawery Kiepski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zbyszko Cupial in the 80th minute of play. A collision led to Canastro FC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Staffan Nyberg hit a great ball. 86 minutes had been played when some careless play by Newcastle United's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Valter Abreu was slow to take the kick. During this time Canastro FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Canastro FC's Valter Abreu to fire away a dangerous shot which Ksawery Kiepski despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ksawery Kiepski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zbyszko Cupial in the 88th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 89 minutes, Zbyszko Cupial took a quick shot and it went in 2-6 without a chance for Ksawery Kiepski to make any attempt to save it. Vladimir Miheev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Remigiusz Bronkala, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. A collision led to Canastro FC getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Staffan Nyberg hit a great ball. Vladimir Miheev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edward Lampa in the 95th minute of play. In the 95th minute Edward Lampa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vladimir Miheev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vladimir Miheev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wawrzyniec Bator in the 97th minute of play. Canastro FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
