Olivedos's Abelardo Maranhense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dagoberto Dracena in the 6th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Trindade Atlético Club's zone, Valdo Dantas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tiaguinho Correia came out of the goal and Valdo Dantas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tiaguinho Correia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdo Dantas in the 11th minute of the match. Dagoberto Dracena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, Olivedos's Abelardo Maranhense got control of the ball when Dagoberto Dracena tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tiaguinho Correia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdo Dantas, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. 21 minutes into the match, Trindade Atlético Club's goal looked a bit too open when Donato Oliveira came free, but Tiaguinho Correia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Valdo Dantas in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tiaguinho Correia saved Trindade Atlético Club from getting behind. Tiaguinho Correia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donato Oliveira in the 24th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Olivedos's zone, Dagoberto Dracena stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abelardo Maranhense came out of the goal and Dagoberto Dracena tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 32ndth minute of the game Valdo Dantas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Trindade Atlético Club's Tiaguinho Correia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Olivedos's defense didn't have a chance, in the 34th minute, when Fulgencio Rius scored to the left of an out of position Abelardo Maranhense, making the score, 1-0. The supporters of Olivedos booed when Trindade Atlético Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fritz Lindström didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Korhan Kutalmış from long distance, 48 minutes into the match, got Abelardo Maranhense's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Trindade Atlético Club's attentive Falcão de Barros managed to snatch the ball when Rubinho Chaves made a throw-in in the 53rd minute of the game. Abelardo Maranhense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fulgencio Rius, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. 59 minutes into the match, Trindade Atlético Club's Dagoberto Dracena sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Abelardo Maranhense narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Valdo Dantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Trindade Atlético Club made a substitution. Olivedos's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Trindade Atlético Club's Tiaguinho Correia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdo Dantas in the 73rd minute of play. Víktor Magalhães struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Abelardo Maranhense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Trindade Atlético Club. Olivedos's Luís Novaes was substituted for Luisinho Ceresso. Olivedos's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Caio Pinto in the 81st minute. The Olivedos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
