Denílson Ramalho charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Denílson Ramalho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Vasco FC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Denílson Ramalho hit a great ball. Wellington Barbosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zdzislaw Pilarczyk in the 36th minute of play. When Emil Maurycy came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Uszykowani NWS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emil Maurycy couldn't finish the play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When Zdzislaw Pilarczyk came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Uszykowani NWS fans jumped to their feet. If Jonas Veloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 84 minutes into the match, Uszykowani NWS's goal looked a bit too open when César de Godoi came free, but Waclaw Ogrodowicz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Emil Maurycy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 97 minutes, Zdzislaw Pilarczyk managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Uszykowani NWS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zdzislaw Pilarczyk was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
