An unexpectedly hard shot by Morten Sundseth in the 6th minute of play forced ARIS THESSALONIKI F.C.'s goalkeeper Julian Cuesta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Åsnes's Christoffer Jørgensen got control of the ball when Panos Diamantidis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Christoffer Jørgensen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kostas Lebesis in the 17th minute of play. Julian Cuesta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonathan Vie, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. After 38 minutes, Charilaos Karouselis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ARIS THESSALONIKI F.C. and the Åsnes players grew even worse after the yellow card. Charilaos Karouselis hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. 43 minutes into the game, Kostas Lebesis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ARIS THESSALONIKI F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Åsnes the free kick. After 44 played minutes ARIS THESSALONIKI F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Kostas Lebesis. Julian Cuesta didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Morten Sundseth went, in the 47th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Panos Diamantidis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Åsnes's David Reitan got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Julian Cuesta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kim Alnes in the 53rd minute of the match. Christoffer Jørgensen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dimitris Alexopoulos went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. When David Reitan fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Åsnes's protests and gave David Reitan a yellow card for diving instead. David Reitan hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. After 68 played minutes Åsnes got a freekick which was hit by Jon-Egil Gjelsvik. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dan Ødegaard got free with Julian Cuesta in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Åsnes's Kim Alnes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Julian Cuesta. That made the score 3-2 after 71 minutes of play. When Kim Alnes fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Åsnes's protests and gave Kim Alnes a yellow card for diving instead. 80 minutes into the match, ARIS THESSALONIKI F.C.'s goalkeeper Julian Cuesta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dan Ødegaard. In the 81st minute, ARIS THESSALONIKI F.C.'s Charilaos Karouselis seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Charilaos Karouselis the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of ARIS THESSALONIKI F.C. protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Charilaos Karouselis had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Charilaos Karouselis hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, ARIS THESSALONIKI F.C. could leave the field as winners, despite Åsnes having more of the ball for most of the match.
