Julian Abarca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilbur Farrell having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alonzo Gervaso in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wilbur Farrell saved New England Minas from getting behind. After 19 minutes, Kenneth Armenta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the New England Minas and the Paunero players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of New England Minas booed when Paunero was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonides Mogel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Parker Nance was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 38th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Parker Nance recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Norberto Valentine was the one to do the kick off. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Ezequiel Jaizki took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Wilbur Farrell to make any attempt to save it. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Paunero had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
