The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Osvaldo Abreu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Díaz in the 3rd minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Clube Atletico Alagoano's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Díaz came free, but Osvaldo Abreu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Andriy Lunin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chico Cardozo in the 14th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Chico Cardozo notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of MILLONARIOS FC's Andriy Lunin. Andriy Lunin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Leandro Mandrak kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. MILLONARIOS FC's Andriy Lunin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leandro Mandrak in the 24th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Leandro Mandrak managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clube Atletico Alagoano's supporters rose to their feet, but Leandro Mandrak was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andriy Lunin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luis Díaz in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Osvaldo Abreu saved Clube Atletico Alagoano from getting behind. After 30 minutes Clube Atletico Alagoano's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Markel Robles who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Markel Robles got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Osvaldo Abreu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 31st minute, Agostinho Tavares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Andriy Lunin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agostinho Tavares in the 33rd minute of play. In the 36th minute, Luis Díaz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MILLONARIOS FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Luis Díaz did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-1 to the left of a surprised Osvaldo Abreu 40 minutes into the match. A collision led to Clube Atletico Alagoano getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Manfredo Hermes hit a great ball. If Leandro Mandrak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leandro Mandrak made a kick off. The supporters of MILLONARIOS FC booed when Clube Atletico Alagoano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chico Cardozo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luis Díaz in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Osvaldo Abreu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The MILLONARIOS FC fans' excitement grew in the 60th match minute when MILLONARIOS FC's Luis Díaz looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The MILLONARIOS FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Clube Atletico Alagoano had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
