A collision led to Ponte do Carro getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Nuno Bittencourt was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 45 minutes into the match, Diamantino Guimarães notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Santos City's Nuno Bittencourt. Nuno Bittencourt was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mateus Quaresma was the one to do the kick off. Diamantino Guimarães could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Nuno Bittencourt made a huge save. 58 minutes into the match, Lúcio Marques notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of Santos City's Nuno Bittencourt. Nuno Bittencourt was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luís Fernando de Lima kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Válbson Ortiz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Rodrigo Amaro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 82 minutes into the game, Mateus Quaresma cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-6. Nuno Sanches fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuno Bittencourt having to interfere. Nuno Bittencourt came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Ponte do Carro's Lúcio Marques. But to his dismay, Lúcio Marques quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-7. Nuno Bittencourt made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Mateus Quaresma sent off a good shot on target. Ponte do Carro's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
