Soc. Rodo's Gasteiz Latorre nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Célio Varela made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Célio Varela came out of the goal and Gasteiz Latorre tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 24th minute, Claudinho Cearense made a precise shot to the right of Jeremy Avellana. Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's Jeremy Avellana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramón Madureira in the 27th minute of play. Célio Varela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gasteiz Latorre in the 29th minute of the match. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arlindo Vander stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Guto Pirani was slow to take the kick. During this time Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's players had a chance to rest. Zé Carlos Vides thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Célio Varela, a very annoying self made goal in the 65th minute which led to 1-5. Laerte Seco made in the 70th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Arlindo Vander immediately put the ball in play. Anthon Öberg who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 71stth minute tested the skills of Célio Varela when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Anthon Öberg struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Célio Varela didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Dep. Soc. Rodo. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anthon Öberg got free with Célio Varela in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. BOA VISTA E.C.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 83rd minute, when Anthon Öberg scored to the left of an out of position Célio Varela, making the score, 1-7. Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's Anthon Öberg got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
