Simpro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rogelio Lohitzun was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Simpro's İnanç Akasoy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lanny Gilmore in the 88th minute of play. Santos FC's Tory Weeks quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Olgierd Glembin, made in the 90th minute of the game.
