With his leg Antônio Carlos Travassos managed to avoid a goal in the 36thth minute, when Rega Merida CF's Nistor Sârban fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Nistor Sârban scored 9-0 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Antônio Carlos Travassos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Mixto Esporte Clube's zone, Nistor Sârban stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Antônio Carlos Travassos came out of the goal and Nistor Sârban tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
