The audience was convinced that Philippe-Arnaud Heremans's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hermann Hesse was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. A hard shot 7 in the game by Andreas Pirlo from a close distance when the talented Hermann Hesse managed to make a qualified save. Deportivo Popolizio FBC's players were relieved. Andreas Pirlo had several of the Deportivo Popolizio FBC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 7 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Hermann Hesse as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 10th match minute, The Everett Hawks was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Willem-Jan Grootjans to maneuver through the defense. In the 19th minute, Kris Van Eersel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evelio Inguanzo in the 28th minute of play forced The Everett Hawks's goalkeeper Henry Van Herendael to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Henry Van Herendael showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evelio Inguanzo in the 28th minute of the match. In the 30th minute Philippe-Arnaud Heremans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hermann Hesse saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 39th minute of the match Deportivo Popolizio FBC got a corner. The Everett Hawks's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cris Ronaldo ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 43rd match minute, The Everett Hawks was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fre van Eijnde to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in The Everett Hawks's zone, Evelio Inguanzo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Henry Van Herendael came out of the goal and Evelio Inguanzo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Evelio Inguanzo made the kick off in the second half. Evelio Inguanzo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Henry Van Herendael read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Hermann Hesse showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Philippe-Arnaud Heremans, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. A collision led to The Everett Hawks getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Imral Kurniawan hit a great ball. Deportivo Popolizio FBC made a substitution. Torbjørn Trondsen replaced Nils Gielis. Erruki Velarroa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in The Everett Hawks fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 76th minute. Penalty! In the 82nd minute, Deportivo Popolizio FBC's Erruki Velarroa dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. Henry Van Herendael made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Erruki Velarroa sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 96 minutes, Jorge Nastasio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Everett Hawks's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jorge Nastasio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Everett Hawks's Henry Van Herendael played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Torbjørn Trondsen in the 98th minute of play. The Deportivo Popolizio FBC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Deportivo Popolizio FBC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
