Reyes Ritter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Homer Diggs kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Argir Goshev's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Errol Sharpe was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. In the 45th minute, Blue avalanche's Yosif Paunchev seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Yosif Paunchev the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Blue avalanche protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Yosif Paunchev had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The supporters of Santos FC booed when Blue avalanche was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Borimir Shirov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Blue avalanche's Manuel Noyer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reyes Ritter in the 94th minute of play. There was no doubt that Santos FC were the better team. Santos FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
