An unexpectedly hard shot by Orvar Svanberg in the 18th minute of play forced Celta de Virgos's goalkeeper Ceferino Austin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gabriel Fanström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leopoldo Fernanco in the 23rd minute of the match. 25 minutes into the match, Celta de Virgos's goal looked a bit too open when Orvar Svanberg came free, but Ceferino Austin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 28th minute, Sergio Ermengol got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mattias Bank hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Gabriel Fanström came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Celta de Virgos's Leopoldo Fernanco. But to his dismay, Leopoldo Fernanco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Celta de Virgos's zone, Orvar Svanberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ceferino Austin came out of the goal and Orvar Svanberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 48th minute, Leopoldo Fernanco made a precise shot to the right of Gabriel Fanström. Doffes Damer's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Karl-Oskar Wennerquist made a kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Leopoldo Fernanco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Celta de Virgos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leopoldo Fernanco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Celta de Virgos booed when Doffes Damer was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thomas Petersson didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Celta de Virgos's Arnoldo Florian slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gabriel Fanström.
