Tostão Pernambucano blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Karel-Jan Gheysen having to make a save. Jarbas Sanches made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claude Van Dijck in the 31st minute of play. In the 85th minute, Thibaud Segers sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Cruzeiro MZC -DMZ-'s Jarbas Sanches didn't even have to move. Karel-Jan Gheysen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caio Barral, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Robert Mesmaekers charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
