Delmar Mel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joélson Matos in the 19th minute of play. Humberto Hermon's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Zé Augusto Varela firmly grabbed it by the left post. 28 minutes into the match, Arsenal MGK's goalkeeper Zé Augusto Varela had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Raimundo Orlo. When Florencio Diegotxe fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Masters United F.C.'s protests and gave Florencio Diegotxe a yellow card for diving instead. After 31 played minutes Masters United F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Florencio Diegotxe. Masters United F.C.'s Florencio Diegotxe got his second yellow card of the match in the 38th minute. The audience was convinced that Ariel Urko's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zé Augusto Varela was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. In the 60th minute Ariel Urko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Augusto Varela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
