Xepe Gandia was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Paco Trujillo's late challenge caught a Santos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paco Trujillo helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Downchester City getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Paco Trujillo hit a great ball. 9 minutes into the match, Downchester City's goalkeeper Xepe Gandia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rodrick Orlinsky. The supporters of Santos FC booed when Downchester City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sergio Rodríguez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 11th minute, Byron Kane got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Santos FC's Giuseppe Jewell got a free kick in the 13th minute. Downchester City's defense didn't have a chance, in the 26th minute, when Giuseppe Jewell scored to the left of an out of position Xepe Gandia, making the score, 2-0. 33 minutes into the match, Mitxel Abrego had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Desmond Rowell. Santos FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mitxel Abrego was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Aloisio Santander took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Desmond Rowell. Desmond Rowell dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. After a rather tough play, Santos FC's Giuseppe Jewell got a free kick in the 38th minute. 2-3 became the score in the 39th minute when Paco Trujillo elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Aloisio Santander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Desmond Rowell having to interfere. In the 43rd minute, Froilan Muelas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paco Trujillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Desmond Rowell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

With his leg Desmond Rowell managed to avoid a goal in the 57thth minute, when Downchester City's Paco Trujillo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 64 minutes into the match, Downchester City's goal looked a bit too open when Giuseppe Jewell came free, but Xepe Gandia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paco Trujillo kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Xepe Gandia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Giuseppe Jewell in the 67th minute of the match. 69 minutes into the game, Homer Diggs cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-3. Xepe Gandia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Xepe Gandia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leon Burr in the 72nd minute of play. With 77 minutes on the clock, Sergio Oliver commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee gave Santos FC a penalty, 79 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Kris Marks, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Downchester City's Xepe Gandia. 4-3. In the 82nd minute, Arnoldo Pantoja hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 90th minute Kris Marks shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xepe Gandia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 97 minutes into the match, Byron Kane had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Xepe Gandia. Downchester City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Byron Kane was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-3.
