Spectators: 7499 (Terracing: 5625, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 149) Cauã Travassos made the kick off and thus started the match. Cauã Travassos's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 2ndth minute, Lucio Geofredo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 7 minutes of play, Florida Gulf Coast's Higinio Jerano made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carlos Alberto Negri was left in no man's land by his defense there! Cauã Travassoss short, quick shot in the 13thth minute got Lucio Geofredo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Carlos Alberto Negri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hermengildo Herauso in the 15th minute of play. Cauã Travassos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Waldemar Vinhas hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. S.E. Palmeiras's Carlos Alberto Negri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Higinio Jerano in the 41st minute of play. 42 minutes into the game, Jeremias Guifre was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Florida Gulf Coast's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.E. Palmeiras the free kick. Lucio Geofredo acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 43rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Cássio do Valle. 44 minutes into the match, Vitinho de Sena notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Florida Gulf Coast's Lucio Geofredo. Lucio Geofredo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cauã Travassos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucio Geofredo having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Higinio Jerano made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fabio Jerico got free with Carlos Alberto Negri in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lucio Geofredo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Neves in the 58th minute of the match. Fabio Jerico received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Carlos Alberto Negri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Higinio Jerano struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Carlos Alberto Negri didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Florida Gulf Coast. After 66 played minutes S.E. Palmeiras got a freekick which was hit by Ronaldinho Guedes. Higinio Jerano charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Higinio Jerano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Lucio Geofredo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Neves in the 73rd minute of play. Florida Gulf Coast's Lucio Geofredo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cauã Travassos in the 74th minute of play. The supporters of S.E. Palmeiras booed when Florida Gulf Coast was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hermengildo Herauso didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to S.E. Palmeiras getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Frederico do Nascimento hit a great ball. In the 83rd match minute, S.E. Palmeiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donato Botelho to maneuver through the defense. Fabio Jerico recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carlos Alberto Negri didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Higinio Jerano went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. In the 95th minute, Hermengildo Herauso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Vitinho de Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Florida Gulf Coast's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
