Nacho Gonzalez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Emmanuel Pennington in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edwin van der Sar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Edwin van der Sar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damian Dean in the 64th minute of the match. Damian Dean received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Edwin van der Sar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in União Sport Clube Paredes's zone, Damian Dean stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edwin van der Sar came out of the goal and Damian Dean tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Recolta Alamor supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching União Sport Clube Paredes's performance. The match ended with a win for União Sport Clube Paredes.
