The audience thought a goal was coming when Valter Levander got free with Rodriguinho Sousa in the 2nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mestre GG's goalkeeper Remigiusz Paciuszko, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 6th minute, Feng Ting Chong made a precise shot to the right of Remigiusz Paciuszko. Mestre GG's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Rodriguinho Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Álvaro Paraíba, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robin van Persie in the 14th minute of play forced Mestre GG's goalkeeper Remigiusz Paciuszko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rodriguinho Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Boguslaw Makarewicz in the 17th minute of play. Rodriguinho Sousa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Boguslaw Makarewicz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 21 minutes into the match, Mestre GG's goal looked a bit too open when Deilmison van Basten came free, but Remigiusz Paciuszko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Feng Ting Chong in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Remigiusz Paciuszko prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 34th minute Deilmison van Basten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remigiusz Paciuszko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, Robin van Persie had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Remigiusz Paciuszko. Mestre GG's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Robin van Persie was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After a rather tough play, Mestre GG's Boguslaw Makarewicz got a free kick in the 47th minute. After the first half ATHLETICO PRaiano were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Remigiusz Paciuszko came out of the goal and Deilmison van Basten tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Remigiusz Paciuszko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Deilmison van Basten in the 58th minute of play. Rogério Paes hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Mestre GG's Benson Beverley was substituted for Valter Levander. After 60 played minutes Mestre GG got a freekick which was hit by Rogério Paes. Robin van Persie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rodriguinho Sousa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorginho Garcia in the 67th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boguslaw Makarewicz in the 83rd minute of play forced ATHLETICO PRaiano's goalkeeper Rodriguinho Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 94th minute of the game. One of ATHLETICO PRaiano:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mestre GG:s goal. In the 96th minute there was a penalty for Mestre GG. Álvaro Paraíba stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Rodriguinho Sousa. 1-3.
