Andre Agassi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Segundo Gol having to interfere. Mats Wilander hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. In the 8th minute, Pete Sampras got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jon Negron during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 13 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for New England Minas! After a rather tough play, New England Minas's Dadá Ponta got a free kick in the 19th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andre Agassi in the 22nd minute of play forced New England Minas's goalkeeper Segundo Gol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vincent Linberg in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Segundo Gol saved New England Minas from getting behind. Aron Dahlbom came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by New England Minas's Chris Cabezon. But to his dismay, Chris Cabezon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. When New England Minas's Cory Kirkland in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye MAFFIAN's goalie prevented a goal. In the 45th minute, Pete Sampras hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Andre Agassi to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 50th minute, Cory Kirkland made a precise shot to the right of Aron Dahlbom. MAFFIAN's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. In the 57th minute, Chris Cabezon made a precise shot to the right of Aron Dahlbom. MAFFIAN's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. After 60 minutes of play, New England Minas's Cory Kirkland made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aron Dahlbom was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 63rd minute, Dadá Ponta ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aron Dahlbom was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-2. Cory Kirkland scored 6-2 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aron Dahlbom, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in MAFFIAN's zone, Cory Kirkland stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aron Dahlbom came out of the goal and Cory Kirkland tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Andre Agassi got free with Segundo Gol in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When MAFFIAN's Pete Sampras in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye New England Minas's goalie prevented a goal. Aron Dahlbom showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chris Cabezon in the 76th minute of the match. MAFFIAN's Aron Dahlbom played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chris Cabezon in the 87th minute of play. Patrik Zachrisson kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. MAFFIAN's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
