After 21 played minutes Flames FC got a freekick which was hit by Margarito Santana. An unexpectedly hard shot by Barnaba Borcz in the 22nd minute of play forced Flames FC's goalkeeper Denver Gagnon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute Barnaba Borcz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denver Gagnon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Barnaba Borcz in the 30th minute of play forced Flames FC's goalkeeper Denver Gagnon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Flames FC booed when Newcastle United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Przemyslaw Bulkiewicz didn't get a good kick on the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Newcastle United's goal looked a bit too open when Aimé Ham came free, but Adam Przybylo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
With a little luck, Flames FC's Denver Gagnon got control of the ball when Barnaba Borcz tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 60 minutes, Ellsworth Erwin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Flames FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ellsworth Erwin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Barnaba Borcz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Denver Gagnon made a huge save. Przemyslaw Bulkiewicz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Flames FC's Denver Gagnon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Flames FC from getting a goal against them. Flames FC were furious when Jewell Matson was red carded, 85 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Denver Gagnon came out of the goal and Lech Wierzbicki tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Newcastle United getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Edward Lampa hit a great ball. Barnaba Borcz might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Denver Gagnon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Barnaba Borcz ran back to his position shaking his head. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Newcastle United walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
