Desmond Rowell helped the player get up and apologised. After 8 played minutes Santos FC got a freekick which was hit by Desmond Rowell. After a rather tough play, Santos FC's Hans Ladd got a free kick in the 18th minute. 26 minutes into the match, Santos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Estebano came free, but Jim Mitchell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Yalapa's defense didn't have a chance, in the 29th minute, when Desmond Rowell scored to the left of an out of position Everardo Sal, making the score, 1-0. Everardo Sal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Desmond Rowell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ricardo Clis struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Jim Mitchell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Yalapa. Everardo Sal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodrick Orlinsky in the 35th minute of the match. In the 36th minute, Jonathan Lapurdi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 38 played minutes Yalapa got a freekick which was hit by Leon Otoniel. Everardo Sal was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Kris Marks showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 39 minute of play. When the match had gone on for 47 minutes, Desmond Rowell took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Everardo Sal to make any attempt to save it.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kris Marks was the one to do the kick off. Everardo Sal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Desmond Rowell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joel Estebano kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Rodrick Orlinsky recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Everardo Sal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hans Ladd went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. In the 68th minute, Ricardo Clis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Yalapa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. In the 70th minute Joel Estebano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jim Mitchell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Yalapa were awarded a corner in the 75th minute after Santos FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Nemesio Rojelio took the corner. The corner led Yalapa's Nemesio Rojelio to fire away a dangerous shot which Jim Mitchell despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Rodrick Orlinsky succeeded in the game's 77th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 6-1. The supporters of Yalapa booed when Santos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tracey Dolan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 91st minute, Kris Marks left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Santos FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-1. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Santos FC were victorious despite being under pressure from Yalapa for much of the match.
