The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 12 minutes into the game, Kartal Onural threw the ball into play from the sideline. Piquirenda FC's Angelo Che quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Enéas Tepedino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eugenio Bernal, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Mendes in the 21st minute of play forced Piquirenda FC's goalkeeper Didi Papardelas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Duda Velloso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Didi Papardelas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marco Mendes in the 28th minute of the match. In the 36th minute, Eugenio Bernal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Enéas Tepedino came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Piquirenda FC's Eugenio Bernal. But to his dismay, Eugenio Bernal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 43rd minute Eugenio Bernal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enéas Tepedino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iron Maiden Football's Jorginho da Costa was substituted for José Ramos. Kartal Onural hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eugenio Bernal was the one to do the kick off. With a little luck, Piquirenda FC's Didi Papardelas got control of the ball when Marco Mendes tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 56th minute, Roberto Iratze hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Didi Papardelas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Duda Velloso in the 58th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Frank McLintock got free with Didi Papardelas in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Batuğ Şirzat in the 64th minute of play forced Piquirenda FC's goalkeeper Didi Papardelas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iron Maiden Football made a substitution. Aníbal Leal replaced Frank McLintock. Piquirenda FC made a substitution. Lino Menendo replaced Filiberto Indartsu. 73 minutes had been played when some careless play by Iron Maiden Football's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Roberto Iratze was slow to take the kick. During this time Piquirenda FC's players had a chance to rest. Aníbal Leal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Didi Papardelas made a huge save. Iron Maiden Football's Enéas Tepedino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eugenio Bernal in the 77th minute of play. 83 minutes into the game, Iron Maiden Football's Marco Mendes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Didi Papardelas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Piquirenda FC's Cayetano Lluciano was substituted for Roberto Iratze. Piquirenda FC's Jilian Oosters was substituted for Severiano Ibañez. Piquirenda FC's Didi Papardelas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Piquirenda FC from getting a goal against them. Marco Mendes received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Didi Papardelas came out and tried to block the shot, but Marco Mendes slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 91st minute. In the 96th minute Cayetano Lluciano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enéas Tepedino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Piquirenda FC's Didi Papardelas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Mendes in the 98th minute of play. Iron Maiden Football played a much better game than Piquirenda FC and deserved their victory. The Piquirenda FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
