FC Pepe Burrón's Tiémoué Bakayoko got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The nice shot from Leonid Afteni in the 6thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Gigel Tilea had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Orlando Rivera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cornel Poplăcan in the 7th minute of play. Gigel Tilea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leonid Afteni in the 9th minute. Justino Gotzon's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Gigel Tilea firmly grabbed it by the left post. Orlando Rivera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergiu Coșeriu in the 12th minute of play. Tiémoué Bakayoko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gigel Tilea having to interfere. Codrin Ionete hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Academia Rio defense, Tiémoué Bakayoko kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gigel Tilea. The Academia Rio fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gigel Tilea should have stopped the shot. Orlando Rivera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucian Petriceanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. A collision led to FC Pepe Burrón getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Carlos Galván hit a great ball. In the 30th minute, Leonid Afteni got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Justino Gotzon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gigel Tilea having to interfere. Academia Rio's Gigel Tilea proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Academia Rio from getting a goal against them. The corner ended in Ivon Curiel almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Academia Rio's Gigel Tilea did a great save. Tiémoué Bakayoko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gigel Tilea having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Tiémoué Bakayoko managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Pepe Burrón's supporters rose to their feet, but Tiémoué Bakayoko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gigel Tilea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. FC Pepe Burrón made a substitution. Jacobo Fidele replaced Tiémoué Bakayoko. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cornel Poplăcan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51stth minute of the game Leonid Afteni who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Academia Rio's Gigel Tilea was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 52 minutes into the match, FC Pepe Burrón's goalkeeper Orlando Rivera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sergiu Coșeriu. Orlando Rivera made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Sergiu Coșeriu sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonid Afteni in the 57th minute of play forced Academia Rio's goalkeeper Gigel Tilea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of FC Pepe Burrón booed when Academia Rio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moisés Veiga didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Academia Rio's zone, Leonid Afteni stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gigel Tilea came out of the goal and Leonid Afteni tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Orlando Rivera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sergiu Coșeriu went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 64th minute, Dumitru Pantelimon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonid Afteni in the 65th minute of play forced Academia Rio's goalkeeper Gigel Tilea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Academia Rio's Gigel Tilea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonid Afteni in the 71st minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, Leonid Afteni notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Academia Rio's Gigel Tilea. Gigel Tilea was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. FC Pepe Burrón's Leonid Afteni got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 88 minutes, Leonid Afteni managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Pepe Burrón's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonid Afteni was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Leonid Afteni struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Gigel Tilea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Pepe Burrón. FC Pepe Burrón walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
