AFK Petržalka's Filip Garaj played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Darwin Núñez in the 33rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Richard Zedník got free with Bayan Gugovski in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind AFK Petržalka's goalkeeper Filip Garaj, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 39 minutes into the game, Erik Jirka was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AFK Petržalka's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Merengue FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, AFK Petržalka's Erik Jirka got a free kick in the 40th minute. Tomáš Javorčík could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Bayan Gugovski made a huge save. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 63 minutes into the match, AFK Petržalka's goalkeeper Filip Garaj had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ediberto Sampaio. 64 minutes into the match, Ediberto Sampaio dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Filip Garaj, 0-2. 73 minutes into the match, Merengue FC's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Zedník came free, but Bayan Gugovski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 74 minutes Merengue FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Okoyomon Charles Bukowski who took care of the corner kick. Darwin Núñez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Merengue FC played a much better game than AFK Petržalka and deserved their victory. The AFK Petržalka players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
