The crowd rose to their feet as Capivara FC's Betão Pinheiro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gláuber Brodel. That made the score 1-0 after 3 minutes of play. In the 8th minute Marcos Ramalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Fernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Morro Grande E.C booed when Capivara FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erasmo Sena didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 14 played minutes Morro Grande E.C got a freekick which was hit by Alfredinho Vieira. 16 minutes into the game, Morro Grande E.C's Hélder Velasco nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. João Fernandez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 19th minute of the game. One of Capivara FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Morro Grande E.C:s goal. João Fernandez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hélder Velasco, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. If Marcos Ramalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcos Ramalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. João Fernandez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gláuber Brodel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júnior Veloso, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Baltazar Sampaio kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Capivara FC's João Fernandez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcos Ramalho in the 46th minute of play. 48 minutes into the match, Capivara FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marcos Ramalho came free, but João Fernandez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The wind increased when Júnior Veloso made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Habib Ali Picavea during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Betão Pinheiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gláuber Brodel having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Marcos Ramalho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Morro Grande E.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcos Ramalho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Fernandez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcos Ramalho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but João Fernandez made a huge save. 63 minutes into the match, Morro Grande E.C's goal looked a bit too open when Júnior Veloso came free, but Gláuber Brodel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hélder Velasco hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Hélder Velasco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but João Fernandez made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Hélder Velasco kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving João Fernandez. That made the score 1-4 in the 71 minute of play. In the 79th minute, Marcos Ramalho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Morro Grande E.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. Marcos Ramalho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. João Fernandez came out and tried to block the shot, but Marcos Ramalho slotted it home off the left post making it 1-6 in the 84th minute. The tension between the Morro Grande E.C and the Capivara FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Morro Grande E.C's Jorginho Mazza got a free kick in the 89th minute. Capivara FC's João Fernandez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Capivara FC from getting a goal against them. The Capivara FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Morro Grande E.C were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
