But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Panait Marghescu couldn't finish the play. 18 minutes into the match, Paralia Athens's Panait Marghescu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dinu Cănănău narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Panait Marghescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dinu Cănănău showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marian Achifoaiei, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Marian Achifoaiei received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Dinu Cănănău tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Panait Marghescu came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Paralia Athens fans jumped to their feet. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Panait Marghescu in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dinu Cănănău saved ASF BAIA MARE -MM- from getting behind. Cristian Urdeş kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Codrin Beraru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bogdan Udrişte in the 37th minute of the match. Codrin Beraru made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aron Zgrăbunţa in the 40th minute. 43 minutes into the match, Paralia Athens's goalkeeper Codrin Beraru had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aron Zgrăbunţa. After 44 played minutes ASF BAIA MARE -MM- got a freekick which was hit by Eric Ţirpescu. Codrin Beraru made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Bogdan Udrişte sent off a good shot on target. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
