The audience thought a goal was coming when Panos Barbagiannis got free with Ilias Seichanidis in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Argyris Stokas scored 4-0 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ilias Seichanidis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Apostolis Kalopoulos in the 47th minute of play forced PaoK Neapoleos's goalkeeper Isidoros Tsagarakis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Argyris Stokas made a kick off. Thalis Skinas made in the 54th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Giannis Arabatzis. Isidoros Tsagarakis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Akis Karaoulanis in the 57th minute of play. With his leg Isidoros Tsagarakis managed to avoid a goal in the 58thth minute, when ΟΦΗ's Nikos Kanetos fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The supporters of ΟΦΗ booed when PaoK Neapoleos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Panagiotis Psaris didn't get a good kick on the ball. PaoK Neapoleos's Vassilis Roubakis was substituted for Argyris Stokas. PaoK Neapoleos made a substitution. Vassilis Kyriakas replaced Panagiotis Psaris. ΟΦΗ's Giorgos Bletsios quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Giannis Arabatzis, made in the 65th minute of the game. Ilias Seichanidis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Panos Barbagiannis in the 68th minute of the match. Dawid Kosakowski took the ball and in the 74 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ilias Seichanidis. Ilias Seichanidis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Isidoros Tsagarakis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Augusto Landero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vassilis Kyriakas in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ilias Seichanidis saved ΟΦΗ from getting behind. Ilias Seichanidis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vassilis Roubakis, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. In the 93rd minute of the match PaoK Neapoleos got a corner. ΟΦΗ's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dawid Kosakowski ran over to the corner to take the kick. ΟΦΗ's Ilias Seichanidis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vassilis Kyriakas in the 95th minute of play. Ilias Seichanidis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vassilis Kyriakas, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the ΟΦΗ players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for PaoK Neapoleos.
