The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 3rd minute of the game. One of Queen Red Bulls Eertje:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of AC Pitt Bier:s goal. Humberto Maurits had in the 4thth minute some difficulties stopping Donny Slot's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Queen Red Bulls Eertje's Humberto Maurits played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stefan Pieters in the 6th minute of play. 7 minutes into the match, AC Pitt Bier's goalkeeper Taco Uebels had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Brain van Zomeren. Taco Uebels made an important save on a dangerous shot by Brain van Zomeren in the 8th minute. In the 13th match minute, Queen Red Bulls Eertje was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Coos Spaan to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Martijn Makaay in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Humberto Maurits prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donny Slot in the 19th minute of play forced Queen Red Bulls Eertje's goalkeeper Humberto Maurits to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Humberto Maurits stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Donny Slot's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. The AC Pitt Bier fans' excitement grew in the 20th match minute when AC Pitt Bier's Donny Slot looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. AC Pitt Bier's Stefan Pieters got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 31st minute Jan-Åke Fransson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Humberto Maurits saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd minute of the match, Brain van Zomeren got a very nice opportunity to score, but Taco Uebels was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donny Slot in the 38th minute of play forced Queen Red Bulls Eertje's goalkeeper Humberto Maurits to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Martijn Makaay in the 50th minute of play forced Queen Red Bulls Eertje's goalkeeper Humberto Maurits to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stefan Pieters got free with Humberto Maurits in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Martijn Makaay came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the AC Pitt Bier fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Martijn Makaay couldn't finish the play. In the 60th minute of the match, Martijn Makaay tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Humberto Maurits saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Christiaan van der Velden kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. AC Pitt Bier's Juan Badr was substituted for Gerard Lever. In the 66th minute, Christiaan van der Velden hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 75 minutes, Richard Ravenbergen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Queen Red Bulls Eertje's supporters crossed their fingers, but Richard Ravenbergen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 77th minute, Stefan Pieters got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Stefan Pieterss short, quick shot in the 82ndth minute got Humberto Maurits to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Humberto Maurits stood somewhat misplaced when Stefan Pieters came free in front of goal and shot 1-2 to the left of him in the 82 minute. Jan-Åke Fransson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. AC Pitt Bier made a substitution. Erik Hulzebos replaced Dick Egberts. Humberto Maurits showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stefan Pieters in the 93rd minute of the match. In the 95th minute AC Pitt Bier were awarded a corner. Jan-Åke Fransson went to the cornerflag to take it.
