The audience thought a goal was coming when Sandu Mândrilă got free with Jeferson Toledo in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 32nd minute, Playa Malvín's Michael Guisla ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jeferson Toledo. Jeferson Toledo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. In the 39th minute of the match, Sandu Mândrilă tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jeferson Toledo saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Zé Roberto Teixeira came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by C.S.D Punta Ballena's Boguslaw Dziedelonis. But to his dismay, Boguslaw Dziedelonis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Jeferson Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michael Guisla in the 46th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

C.S.D Punta Ballena's Ermengol Velosa was substituted for Celio Velazquez. Playa Malvín's Niva Espellosa was substituted for Sandu Mândrilă. Gonzalo Castro hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. In the 78th minute Niva Espellosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeferson Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 81st minute Fred Åkerström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeferson Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Boguslaw Dziedelonis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zé Roberto Teixeira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. Boguslaw Dziedelonis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zé Roberto Teixeira having to make a save. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Niva Espellosa put it in 5-1 from a short distance just to the right of Jeferson Toledo. Manolo Agriano hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Jeferson Toledo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Niva Espellosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. C.S.D Punta Ballena's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
