Westbam's Tony Arruda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Grabiel Escorcia in the 30th minute of play. Tony Arruda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Grabiel Escorcia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Grabiel Escorcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tony Arruda made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Grabiel Escorcia sent off a good shot on target. 37 minutes into the game, Nacional's Grabiel Escorcia nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tony Arruda made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Grabiel Escorcia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 45 played minutes Westbam got a freekick which was hit by Peter Töpfer.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Grabiel Escorcia made a kick off. When the match clock showed 92 minutes, the score became 5-1 when Grabiel Escorcia sped through Westbam's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tony Arruda. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Nacional fully deserved thier win.
