With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elroy Zufferey in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Loris Hellmüller saved Fire Devils from getting behind. 53 minutes into the match, FC Lugano's goal looked a bit too open when Francis Aberle came free, but Dieter Gärtner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elroy Zuffereys short, quick shot in the 58thth minute got Loris Hellmüller to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 59th minute, Elroy Zufferey reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Loris Hellmüller. The goal made the score 1-4. Fire Devils's defense didn't have a chance, in the 64th minute, when Ray Büeler scored to the left of an out of position Loris Hellmüller, making the score, 1-5. In the 69th minute, Garnier Nüesch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 74 minutes, the score became 1-6 when Ray Büeler sped through Fire Devils's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Loris Hellmüller. The audience was convinced that Simon Sanger's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Loris Hellmüller was relentless in the 77th minute of the game.
