Alfons Japón started the match with the kick off. With a little luck, FCSB CUENCA's Hibai Cao got control of the ball when Mikel Jerzinger tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to FC Lugano getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Fréderic Huerlimann hit a great ball. 8 minutes into the match, FC Lugano's goal looked a bit too open when Jeremias Dobale came free, but Godo Gøl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 11thth minute of the game Eugenio Zarrella who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FCSB CUENCA's Hibai Cao was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 11 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Eugenio Zarrella sped through FCSB CUENCA's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Hibai Cao. In the 15th minute, Jeremias Dobale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eugenio Zarrella charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eugenio Zarrella the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jeremias Dobale hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. In the 20th match minute, FCSB CUENCA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Uriel Gimeno to maneuver through the defense. Alfons Japón kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Hibai Cao was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Piedro Marois. Jeremias Dobale hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Gero Vazquez's late challenge caught a FC Lugano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gero Vazquez helped the player get up and apologised. In the 27th match minute, FCSB CUENCA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gero Vazquez to maneuver through the defense. In the 30thth minute of the game Eugenio Zarrella who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FCSB CUENCA's Hibai Cao was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Eugenio Zarrella managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Lugano's supporters rose to their feet, but Eugenio Zarrella was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hibai Cao breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Piedro Marois lost his temper 36 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 36th minute, one of FC Lugano:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC Lugano. In the 38th minute, Zunbeltz Albizua ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Godo Gøl was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. If Stephen Vicente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Godo Gøl showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Uriel Gimeno in the 43rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toni Garrido in the 44th minute of play forced FC Lugano's goalkeeper Godo Gøl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eugenio Zarrella stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rdth minute of the game Eugenio Zarrella who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FCSB CUENCA's Hibai Cao was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eugenio Zarrella in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hibai Cao saved FCSB CUENCA from getting behind. Godo Gøl made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Uriel Gimeno sent off a good shot on target. Hibai Cao made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugenio Zarrella in the 62nd minute of play. FC Lugano's Godo Gøl proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save FC Lugano from getting a goal against them. FCSB CUENCA's Hibai Cao played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fedor Adler in the 68th minute of play. In the 68th minute, Mikel Jerzinger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jeremias Dobale got free with Godo Gøl in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eugenio Zarrella in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hibai Cao saved FCSB CUENCA from getting behind. In the 74th minute, Eugenio Zarrella ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hibai Cao was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. FC Lugano's Eugenio Zarrella got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 79th minute, Gero Vazquez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 80 minutes into the match, FC Lugano's Eugenio Zarrella broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Ulric Donsante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hibai Cao took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eugenio Zarrella, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 91 minutes, Timofej Schneebeli mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Lugano and the FCSB CUENCA players grew even worse after the yellow card. Timofej Schneebeli hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. After 93 played minutes, FCSB CUENCA's Zunbeltz Albizua shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Godo Gøl came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FCSB CUENCA reached it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eugenio Zarrella in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hibai Cao prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 95 played minutes FC Lugano got a freekick which was hit by Stephen Vicente. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. FC Lugano had won after a very even match.
