Victor Curea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roberto Nirvana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fortuna 86 Szczecin's Stipe Pletikosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Prosper Vandamme in the 18th minute of play. Victor Curea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roberto Nirvana in the 19th minute of play. Stipe Pletikosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerzy Grocholski in the 20th minute of the match. In the 21st minute of the match 1909 Tarnovia got a corner. Fortuna 86 Szczecin's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jerzy Grocholski ran over to the corner to take the kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jerzy Grocholski in the 25th managed to get into a good position. After taking down the ball on Fortuna 86 Szczecin's corner Ilie Vlădean fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Victor Curea quite easily take care of the ball. After 42 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Fortuna 86 Szczecin! Stipe Pletikosa had in the 45thth minute some difficulties stopping Jerzy Grocholski's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After some careless play in the Fortuna 86 Szczecin defense, Jerzy Grocholski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Stipe Pletikosa. The Fortuna 86 Szczecin fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Stipe Pletikosa should have stopped the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Roberto Nirvana might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Victor Curea. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roberto Nirvana ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mateusz Mnich during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of 1909 Tarnovia booed when Fortuna 86 Szczecin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mateusz Mnich didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Harun Mengüer in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Victor Curea prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a little luck, 1909 Tarnovia's Victor Curea got control of the ball when Harun Mengüer tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind 1909 Tarnovia's goalkeeper Victor Curea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 80th minute Harun Mengüer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Curea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Harun Mengüer kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 80thth minute. Though ot was a great shot 1909 Tarnovia's keeper Victor Curea was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged.
