When the match clock showed 10 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Frederico Ribeiro sped through Cabrera FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Efrain Perrando. Marcelo Estevez kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Frederico Ribeiro did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-1 to the left of a surprised Efrain Perrando 20 minutes into the match. Cabrera FC's Efrain Perrando proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Cabrera FC from getting a goal against them. After 24 played minutes Cabrera FC got a freekick which was hit by Marcelo Estevez. Efrain Perrando took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frederico Ribeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 31st minute of the match, Diogo Teixeira got a very nice opportunity to score, but Efrain Perrando was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Anier Peruanton struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Maurício Diniz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cabrera FC. When Anier Peruanton came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Cabrera FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anier Peruanton couldn't finish the play. Zézinho Barreto charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zézinho Barreto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Zézinho Barreto hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. 45 minutes into the match, Cabrera FC's goalkeeper Efrain Perrando had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Diogo Teixeira. 48 minutes into the match, Frederico Ribeiro notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Cabrera FC's Efrain Perrando. Efrain Perrando was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Diogo Teixeira to make the kick off. Efrain Perrando showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diogo Teixeira, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. When Diogo Teixeira came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Sport Club do Recife fans jumped to their feet. Sport Club do Recife's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diogo Teixeira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Cabrera FC's Isidro Oihan got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Aílton Fernandes was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 74th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Maurício Diniz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anier Peruanton in the 83rd minute. In the 85th minute, Frederico Ribeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Efrain Perrando made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frederico Ribeiro in the 91st minute of play. 94 minutes into the match, Cabrera FC's goal looked a bit too open when Diogo Teixeira came free, but Efrain Perrando reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. During the 94th minute of the match Isidro Oihan completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Isidro Oihan a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Cabrera FC getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Isidro Oihan hit a great ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Cabrera FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Sport Club do Recife.
