The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 10 minutes into the game, Liviu Hănescu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Takis Kalfoglou was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Takis Kalfoglou took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gigi Barbu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of BANAT VIOLA booed when Mikrochórion was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladimiros Liadelis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Takis Kalfoglou stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Isac Răduț's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. After 16 played minutes BANAT VIOLA got a freekick which was hit by Rareș Ciutacu. In the 18th minute, Remus Vasiliu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in BANAT VIOLA's zone, Fotis Skopelitis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emilio Miconi came out of the goal and Fotis Skopelitis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 19th minute, Vladimiros Liadelis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 21st minute Costică Chira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Takis Kalfoglou saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vassilis Bosis hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 28thth minute of the game Fotis Skopelitis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but BANAT VIOLA's Emilio Miconi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Takis Kalfoglou showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isac Răduț, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. 34 minutes into the match, Mikrochórion's goal looked a bit too open when Gigi Barbu came free, but Takis Kalfoglou reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emilio Miconi made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Nikos Lazarakis sent off a good shot on target. BANAT VIOLA's Isac Răduț got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Emilio Miconi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fotis Skopelitis, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Nae Bleoancă charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nae Bleoancă the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, BANAT VIOLA's Nae Bleoancă got a free kick in the 71st minute. With an all-out effort, BANAT VIOLA's Takis Kalfoglou threw himself towards the right post 78 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Emanuel Dășanu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 79thth minute of the game Isac Răduț who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mikrochórion's Takis Kalfoglou was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Liviu Hănescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Takis Kalfoglou having to interfere. 88 minutes into the match, Mikrochórion's goalkeeper Takis Kalfoglou had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Liviu Hănescu. Takis Kalfoglou was out of position in the 91 minute of play, and Gigi Barbu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gigi Barbu really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. BANAT VIOLA's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
