The referee ignored O.T.E's protests and gave Alekos Roubakis a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Athletis PR booed when O.T.E was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alekos Roubakis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vrasidas Pelidis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Fernando Salgado, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Alekos Roubakis's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 6thth minute, Nilson Berger skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Kiko Leão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vrasidas Pelidis having to interfere. Nilson Berger made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Sakis Tavlaridis sent off a good shot on target. Athletis PR's Nilson Berger proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Athletis PR from getting a goal against them. Kiko Leão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 18 minutes into the match, O.T.E's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Fernando Salgado came free, but Vrasidas Pelidis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Athletis PR's Nilson Berger got control of the ball when Sakis Tavlaridis tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 21st minute Alekos Roubakis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nilson Berger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in O.T.E's zone, Luiz Fernando Salgado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vrasidas Pelidis came out of the goal and Luiz Fernando Salgado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vrasidas Pelidis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luiz Fernando Salgado went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 46 minutes, Geovani Paraíba mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Athletis PR and the O.T.E players grew even worse after the yellow card. Geovani Paraíba kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. 48 minutes into the match, Athletis PR's goal looked a bit too open when Alekos Roubakis came free, but Nilson Berger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luiz Fernando Salgado was the one to do the kick off. In the 58thth minute of the game Luiz Fernando Salgado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but O.T.E's Vrasidas Pelidis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 59th minute, Dimosthenis Tsalouchidis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Athletis PR's Harley Suarez got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Nilson Berger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lambis Kolevas in the 63rd minute of the match. Vrasidas Pelidis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Fernando Salgado, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. In the 73rd minute Luiz Fernando Salgado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vrasidas Pelidis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alekos Roubakis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Athletis PR's supporters rose to their feet, but Hudson Martins was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vrasidas Pelidis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Harley Suarez hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. In the 91st minute Luiz Fernando Salgado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vrasidas Pelidis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kiko Leão who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 97thth minute tested the skills of Vrasidas Pelidis when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 98 played minutes O.T.E got a freekick which was hit by Kyriakos Papachristou. The Athletis PR supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Athletis PR would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
