The crowd rose to their feet as Calenzano's Enrico Di Gennaro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Thomas Hoogsteen. That made the score 1-0 after 5 minutes of play. A collision led to Calenzano getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Alfredo Bolognini hit a great ball. A collision led to ASV Muziekwijk getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Luc Thijsse hit a great ball. After 20 played minutes ASV Muziekwijk got a freekick which was hit by Emiel Bijlsma. After 28 played minutes Calenzano got a freekick which was hit by Franco Speranza. Thomas Hoogsteen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carmine Cimino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Calenzano's Antonio Gizzi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leon van der Vaart in the 37th minute of play. Antonio Gizzi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bob van der Werff, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. The supporters of Calenzano booed when ASV Muziekwijk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hans Strobos didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bob van der Werff was the one to do the kick off. Through an outstanding action, after 54 minutes, Antonio Gizzi successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Calenzano's zone, Emiel Bijlsma stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Antonio Gizzi came out of the goal and Emiel Bijlsma tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fulvio Aquilino charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fulvio Aquilino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Alfredo Bolognini hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Antonio Gizzi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bob van der Werff in the 62nd minute of play. Carmine Cimino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ricky Bergman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antonio Gizzi having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Leon van der Vaart's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Antonio Gizzi was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. Hans Strobos kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. In the 93rd match minute, Calenzano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredo Bolognini to maneuver through the defense. In the 96th minute Bob van der Werff shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antonio Gizzi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Calenzano's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
