Inter de Guayaquil FC were furious when Alexandro Mina was red carded, 5 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. A throw-in in the 14th minute of the game was made by Jacinto Velosa with Augusto Perma as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Zunbeltz Inchaurdi kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. The audience cheered when Emilio Lariz's long shot passed Romo Ungo's right side. It was 0-2, 21 minutes into the match. Díaz Tristan struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Romo Ungo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Eléctricos F.C.. Romo Ungo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cruz Logroño, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Romo Ungo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zernin Pellicer, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Romo Ungo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Díaz Tristan in the 62nd minute of play. In the 66th minute of the game Jacinto Velosa made a throw-in which Emilio Lariz played forward. In the 70th minute Díaz Tristan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romo Ungo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cruz Logroño in the 71st minute of play forced Inter de Guayaquil FC's goalkeeper Romo Ungo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leonardo Olazabal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
