Spectators: 152 (Terracing: 114, Seating: 35, VIP seats: 3) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Adalberto de Lara got the match started through his kick off. Ronaldão Fontes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 6 minutes into the game, SE Palestra Itália's Adalberto de Lara nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Amauri Munhoz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 14th match minute, SE Palestra Itália was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alfredo Pinho to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the SE Palestra Itália defense, Décio Gaspar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jorge Pimenta. The SE Palestra Itália fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jorge Pimenta should have stopped the shot. Atlético-PR's Amauri Munhoz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adalberto de Lara in the 21st minute of play. Ronaldão Fontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amauri Munhoz having to interfere. SE Palestra Itália's attentive Angelo Berger managed to snatch the ball when Gilson Arantes made a throw-in in the 34th minute of the game. Jorge Pimenta came out of the goal and Leandro Hermes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to SE Palestra Itália getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Juan Britto hit a great ball. In the 48th minute, Marco Rocha left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Atlético-PR fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leandro Hermes made a kick off. 60 minutes into the game, Ronaldão Fontes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Amauri Munhoz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Atlético-PR booed when SE Palestra Itália was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronaldão Fontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 76th minute, Adalberto de Lara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Atlético-PR's Décio Gaspar in the 78th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Jorge Pimenta was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for SE Palestra Itália through an amazing save. Atlético-PR were awarded a corner in the 80th minute after SE Palestra Itália's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Donato Sena took the corner. After taking down the ball on Atlético-PR's corner Donato Sena fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jorge Pimenta quite easily take care of the ball. After 82 minutes, Ronaldão Fontes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SE Palestra Itália and the Atlético-PR players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 82nd match minute, SE Palestra Itália was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronaldão Fontes to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marco Rocha got free with Jorge Pimenta in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Umberto Barbosa in the 97th minute of play forced Atlético-PR's goalkeeper Amauri Munhoz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
