After 34 minutes, Everardo Berenguer made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Estrellas de Caballito's Jaime Venceslao tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Piquirenda FC's Nestor Mogel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Higinio Luzea in the 37th minute of play. Tiburcio Cerilo was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 38 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Piquirenda FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 37th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Estrellas de Caballito a penalty, 39 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Anselmo Pitin, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Piquirenda FC's Nestor Mogel. 1-3. Nestor Mogel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matias Montrelle, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. The supporters of Piquirenda FC booed when Estrellas de Caballito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Refugio didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Piquirenda FC made a substitution. Aldo Isias replaced Gerardo Arnau. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Selatse made a kick off.
