An unexpectedly hard shot by Richie Ason in the 27th minute of play forced Sporting Chilcano's goalkeeper Mendebal Meruendano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luis Escobar in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mendebal Meruendano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luis Escobar in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mendebal Meruendano saved Sporting Chilcano from getting behind. 33 minutes into the match, ALIANZA 1901's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Santotis came free, but Ruy Berger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Luis Escobar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lionel Ronaldo struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Armando Santotis to make the kick off. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
