Todd Chester received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Orville Henley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 12 minutes into the match, Gainesville's Trenton Todd sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Orville Henley narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Stanton Minor might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Clinton Russo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Stanton Minor ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 24th minute, Englewood Cliffs's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Todd Chester fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When Trenton Todd came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Gainesville fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Trenton Todd couldn't finish the play. The attack was good, but when Todd Chester in the 30th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Henry Weston struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Clinton Russo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Englewood Cliffs. Orville Henley made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Todd Chester sent off a good shot on target. Clinton Russo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stanton Minor in the 39th minute of the match. After 42nd play minutes Todd Chester shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Orville Henley and just under the crossbar into goal. If Trenton Todd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Trenton Todd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Orville Henley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Trenton Todd was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Henry Weston got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Clinton Russo made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Henry Weston sent off a good shot on target. Orville Henley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Trenton Todd in the 56th minute of play. Englewood Cliffs's Orville Henley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Garrett Belanger in the 61st minute of play. In the 64th minute, Loren Warner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Trenton Todd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Orville Henley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Gainesville's Trenton Todd in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Englewood Cliffs's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robby Courtney in the 73rd minute of play forced Englewood Cliffs's goalkeeper Orville Henley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Henry Weston sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gainesville's Clinton Russo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Gainesville from getting a goal against them. In the 89th minute of the match Clint Montano sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Orville Henley skillfully saved the ball. When Gainesville's Trenton Todd in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Englewood Cliffs's goalie prevented a goal. Sherman Cutler hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. In the 96th minute Todd Chester shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Orville Henley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
